STMA Giving Day
STMA Giving Day
Thank you to all those who contributed to STMA Giving Day on December 6. Your loving generosity will bear much fruit, as it supports both parents and teachers in their shared work of handing down the spiritual, moral, and intellectual treasures of the Catholic faith.
STMA’s financial needs for 2023 have not yet been fully met. We continue to invite support from all who desire to renew the Church, renew Catholic education, and invest in an excellent young school. Every gift makes a difference. Thank you for your prayers and support!
What are STMA's Greatest Needs in 2023?
- 83.5% of STMA’s 138 students students receive some form of financial aid.
- STMA awarded over $155,000 in financial aid this year, above and beyond the school choice vouchers provided to 58% of our students by the state of Indiana.
- Our goal is to exceed this amount of financial aid for students next year, but we can only do so through your generosity.
STMA has brought new life to an old school building that had not been used as a school for over 30 years. The property is in continual need of improvement.
With your support, we hope to undertake the following improvements in the coming year:
- Restore the bathroom adjacent to the cafeteria
- Replace broken classroom blinds
- Install outdoor benches and playground equipment, which are currently lacking
- Build a new fence around the recess yard (the existing fence is temporary and in poor condition)
- Purchase humidifiers for the classrooms, to alleviate the effects of dry winter air
- Carry out additional repairs as needs arise
Our school building is at capacity with STMA’s current enrollment of 138 students spanning Grades K-11. STMA is committed to educating our students as they age, which entails adding a 12th grade next year in addition to welcoming new Kindergarteners.
To achieve the moderate school growth we envision, STMA needs financial assistance with the following:
- Rent 3 additional classrooms (either on-site modular units or a separate building in the vicinity of the school)
- Furnish the classrooms with desks, whiteboards, and other items
- Purchase curricular materials for the new classrooms
- Hire at least 3 new teachers
