Why STMA?

I chose to co-found STMA because I believed that Christ was calling me to serve his Church by educating others, which is my vocation. By building a community centered around Christ and the intellectual and moral virtues, my own wife and children could flourish along with so many other families. In our shared friendships pursuing truth with love, we are enjoying a common good that couldn’t be attained any other way. Founding STMA gave me a chance to work with the whole amazing STMA team. This has been a dream come true, and I can’t wait to see where God leads all of us next. Saint Thomas More, pray for us!

Why STMA?

“From whom much has been given, much will be expected” (Lk 12:48). I am the beneficiary of a K-12 Catholic classical education at Aquinas Academy of Pittsburgh, and I want my children, and the children of South Bend, to receive what I received: a school centered around daily Mass; a familial culture in which learning is easy and friendships can flourish; inspirational teachers who strive for excellence in their work and love their subjects and their students; and a classical curriculum that forms students’ minds to see reality clearly, their hearts to love goodness, and their souls to believe, hope, and love God.  A happy life involves the daily pursuit of wisdom, and I am so grateful to share this pursuit with the whole community at STMA, and help hand down one of the great treasures of the Church, Catholic classical education, to the next generation.

Why STMA?

I joined the STMA Board out of a desire to serve the local community with my distinctive skill set, and out of a strong commitment to the Catholic classical model of education, which so beautifully unites love of God, love of learning, and childlike joy. I was grateful for my own education, and I wanted to pass that on. I never imagined how much I would receive from STMA in return: personal and professional growth, wonderful friendships, the joy of sharing in an authentic common good, even crash courses in building code and architectural design! This young school is a gift for which I am so grateful.

Why STMA?

I joined the STMA Board because I found STMA and its Catholic classical model of education to be an exciting new addition to the South Bend community, and I hoped to offer unique perspectives to the STMA Board through my lens as a South Bend native and local practicing attorney.  STMA’s curriculum helps children discover what is true, good, and beautiful in the world and in our Catholic faith, and I am thrilled that my own children will one day benefit from this extraordinary school.  I have already observed STMA enrich the lives of many local families in its short history, and I look forward to contributing to its continued growth and impact on our community
